This course has been developed to provide an understanding of fire safety and how to use portable fire equipment to extinguish a fire.
Fire awareness and extinguisher training is essential in every workplace, regardless of industry, size or the nature of work being performed. Fires can start unexpectedly and escalate rapidly, putting lives, property and business operations at risk. Understanding common fire hazards, how to prevent fires, what to do when an alarm sounds and how to respond safely in an emergency can make a critical difference. Every employee has a role to play in recognising risks, reducing the likelihood of fire and helping protect themselves and those around them.
This training equips employees with the practical knowledge and confidence to respond appropriately to a fire emergency, including understanding different fire types, knowing when and how to use an appropriate fire extinguisher, and recognising when evacuation is the safest option. It also supports organisational responsibilities for workplace health and safety and fire safety compliance, helping create a safer, more prepared and resilient workplace.
Suitable for all employees, contractors and personnel working in any industry or workplace, regardless of role or level of experience. Provides essential knowledge of fire hazards, fire prevention, emergency procedures and the safe use of fire extinguishers to help maintain a safe working environment and respond appropriately in the event of a fire.
